Can't say I watch enough laught track laden sitcoms of the modern day to know, but I can't imagine there are that many that are as in your face about it as 2 Broke Girls.
Although that said, I recall Anger Managment having a ton of it with that one old, racist, homophobic dude who sat around berating the gay guy and the Hispanic girl of the group. So maybe it is more common than I'm aware and 2 Broke Girls is just sort of one of the most popular examples of such a thing.

I find they're largely just more vanilla, template-following sitcoms than EDGEFESTS but there have been comparatively more of those shows in recent years, dark comedy has proven rather popular so I guess the likes of nbc wanna try their hand.
THANKFULLY tho alot of comedy shows now are forgoing the laugh-track/live audience. I dont see it ever totally dying tho. I dunno, its such a traditional thing.

Maybe it's because I associate the ol' laugh track style sitcoms with being fairly vanilla anyway that it's weird to think of them trying to be edgy. Like, that's not to say older shows didn't have some un-PC lines in them (Recently saw an ep of FRIENDS where Chandler's mom tells his dad, a drag queen performer played by Kathleen Turner, "Don't you have a little too much penis to be wearing a dress like that?"), but they never really felt like they were actively trying to shock or offend like some of them do now where they really hammer in as many uncomfortable comments as they can and are well aware of what they're doing.

its almost like modern laff-trak sitcoms are attempting to slip into the mode of classic sitcoms like all in the family, shows that tackled tabboo subjects and could be unflinching, and in theory thats a good response to the sacchrine melodrama and dull-as-dishwater "white people living their lives" fluff of alot of 90s sitcommery but theres just no grace or tact to any of it. nothing they say about said subjects transcends regressive stereotyping.

I feel like maybe part of that is because they don't actually have anything meaningful to say about certain issues, but still wanna seem relevant by talking about them. It also doesn't help that with sitcoms like All in the Family, Archie Bunker's brand of bigotry inspired the creation of characters like Eric Cartman and Peter Griffin, where the goal wasn't to bring taboo subjects to light or make fun of cranky old closed minded turds, but just to get away with saying horrible things in an animated form. Now that that's seeping over to live action shows, we're seeing these hamfisted attempts at edge and relevance in the form of the cheapest, most tired shock value level stuff you could ask for.

Has anyone else seen Golden Years? I quite liked it, underrated King series.
I gotta get back to Who's The Boss? and Happy Days soon, was a while ago since I watched episodes from them.

Is Kevin Spencer actually a good show? Handsome uploaded a clip from it once, and torm had Kevin as his avatar a long while (plus uploaded all credit sequences). But how come this became such a cult phenomenon? Is it a funny show to watch?

It was pretty bland and humorless from what I've seen although that One Grand Annoyance episode is interesting despite how annoying it is. It's pretty damn unique if I'm being honest and the few jokes it actually has (Excluding the annoying sounds.) are so bad that it's funny and this is unrelated, but I'd kill to see the reactions of the people who watched it when it aired or the people that were channel flipping and all of a sudden this episode pops up. Then again besides that I've really only seen the season 1 episodes that look like they were animated with MS Paint, (I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case.) so I might be missing out on some actually good episodes. To answer your question though it might be good for some unintentional laughs, but it's not a genuinely funny show.

Everyone should check out Man Seeking Woman. Episode 6 and 7 weren't quite as strong as the rest, but man, Teacup was fantastic. I love this show.
