I used to rent Gex 3 so much, and then finally I recently bougt it in Tupelo, Mississippi but the disc inside was Gex 1, which I also wanted, but the disc didnt work.
I guess what im saying is dont buy from Game X Change in Tupelo MS, unless you want my copy if Intellivision Lives for GameCube, its still there :^)

Yeah, heard about some of the nerfs the n64 version had (have the PS1 versions of Gex 2 + 3 through the PSVita eshop).
They're decent platformers to try out. Simpsons writer Gex can be annoying to hear after a while, but it adds a little to the weird offcolor games they are.

love the 3ds. beats out all current gaming systems right now tbh. nowadays i'm mostly playing virtual console stuffs (grr for my copy of the 3ds not supporting snes downloads... still bitter about that) but there's still some main games i go back to now and then
- legend of zelda: a link between worlds (fantastic and creative otherworldly 2d zelda game..very similar to link to the past with some cool twists) - super mario 3d land (personally not in love with this game but everyone i know is. it's certainly a fun timewaster!) - shovel knight (e-shop retro game but very worth it and cool. it's like mega man with more RPG elements) - luigi's mansion dark moon (luigi's mansion on the go...can't go wrong) - smash bros 3ds (same as above, smash on the go, can't go wrong) - mario kart 7 (same as above)

need more rayman fans on board. just utterly fantastic games, even the stupid hard original which I could only beat in th nerfed gba version :x
rayman 1-3, origins and legends are honestly all essential gaming in my view. after that u can play all the weird ports if ur insane like me.

The Smackdown games don't really hold up all that well for me, mostly because of how friggin' fast they are and the fact that I'm way too far removed from the control scheme due to the approach of the Smackdown Vs. Raw games that came much later on, but there's without doubt a lot of good memories playing the first 2. I guess the fact that they're a bit more "Arcadey" for lack of a better word is what makes them feel so alien to me now after years of playing the more grounded titles in the series as they tried to be more and more realistic with the way characters moved as well as the introduction of stuff like the stamina system and the specific body part damage meter. Attempting to go back to the older games is just too jarring for me.
I still have my copy of Rayman 3 that I got as a kid for my birthday (Which oddly enough, I got along with "WWF Smackdown! Just Bring it") and have the digital download of Rayman 2 on my PS3. Solid stuff that holds up insanely well. Would also like to get my hands on Rayman Rush again.

rayman rush is just the racing portions of rayman arena isnt it? tho arena may be under a different name in the uk.
id say ive played every rayman short of like the old phone games and a few resent Endless Runner type titles. I think theres a recent mobile one thats actually a new platformer? which is uh worrying, seems a bad sign.

i won't ever unlearn the style of the original smackdown games. that's why i can't play the slow smackdown vs raw series. i'm too used to EXCITING PRO WRESTLING

Rayman Rush has 11 racing tracks, whereas Arena only has 8, so I assume that's whatever was in Arena plus a few bonus ones to justify its existence. Also, Arena is called "Rayman M" here.
Personally I like the SvR series more than the original Smackdown series simply because there's just more to do in it. I loved all the locker room customisation features and the story modes were super fun to play through in 2006 and 2007 when they actually started doing voice acting for the cutscenes and had you doing really insane non-wrestling related stuff like trying to solve a hit and run case or having to deal with magic related tomfoolery. The combat is insanely satisfying in the early PS2 SVR entries too and the reversal system was something I had mastered back when it was current (My friends got so pissed off because I was able to reverse like 90% of their stuff).
All in all, I'd say I probably have fonder memories of SvR 2006/2007 than any other entry in the series. I hate to see what WWE games have become now though. It was already on the downturn when they dropped the SvR name as they started to faze out story modes and other unique features and now that THQ is dead and 2K Sports are running things it's just become another by the numbers yearly sports game with nothing of note about it.

also i know i'm late to add this, but the 3ds can also play original ds games as well, which includes various gems such as:
*super mario 64 ds *mario kart ds *the legend of zelda: spirit tracks *mario & luigi: bowser's inside story *grand theft auto: chinatown wars (yes, this game was on ds.)
and there are probably some more i'm forgetting about
either way, this really expands your options for buying a 3ds

Can confirm, not played enough Legends yet but Origins is one of my favourite Wii games (probably only behind Brawl and maybe Mario Galazy)

Origins was really great when I played it for the 360, really top tier 2D Platformer.
Only 3D one I played was a port of 2 for the 3DS (it was on sale on the eshop for $10). Not sure if it's just because its a bad port, but it just felt really off to me, delayed sound effects and lag especially ruining it. Still nice to have a 3D platformer on my 3DS tho, its still fun to mess around with it.

Gonna bring some mobile game conversation into the mix. Does anyone here play games on their phone much?
I still have that Futurama Candy Crush clone on my phone. It's an okay time killer with a comic book in it and some surprisingly okay music. Lotta awful "LOOK! THIS IS FUNNY BECAUSE IT'S A PHONE GAME! SOCIAL MEDIA, HUH!?" type jokes in it early on but there's been a few genuine chuckles here and there.

yeah I dont much play Video Games on my fone alot, I do quiz stuff and go back forth downloading and deleting words with friends.
I did have a couple super meat boy ripoffs for a minute but they dont translate so well to mobile imo. kinda kills their flow.

Played some of that new DOOM game today on PS4. It's insanely fun. Only played the first two levels of the campaign but my God, the glory kill system is so, so satisfying. Same can be said for the explosive shotgun upgrades and the chainsaw. I'm not a big fan of FPS games by any stretch of the imagination but DOOM is a rare example of something that's just hits perfectly on every mark for me.
